Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy applies to the Sadece Kur'an iOS app (“App”) and informational pages served on this domain. The App is distributed on the App Store; payments and store transactions are handled by Apple.

2. Data we process and why
The App may store data on your device to provide core features. In summary:
- Reading and preferences: e.g. last read verse, favorites, lists, notification times, display settings — mostly on your device (and, if configured for widgets, in Apple’s shared App Group container).
- Notifications: daily verse reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; we do not send personal data to our servers for this.
- Optional contributions: voluntary in-app purchases are processed with Apple StoreKit. We do not have direct access to your payment details; the transaction is with Apple. The App does not require a separate membership account or password for contributions; purchase history is tied to your Apple ID. “Restore purchases” uses Apple’s store infrastructure; we do not maintain a separate payment wallet or membership database for you.
- Email contact: if you choose to send email from the App, your message is sent via your mail client; this is communication you initiate.
- App Store analytics (aggregate): Apple may provide developers with aggregated, non-identifying statistics about distribution (e.g. sessions, crashes, purchase summaries). The App does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs to track users.
- Qur’an text and translations: The Arabic base layout and verification aim to align with data from the Tanzil Project. For the full license text, attribution requirements (Creative Commons Attribution 3.0), and updates, see Terms of use — Tanzil Quran text license. Turkish and English translation texts are bundled offline in the App. Reading or searching does not send personal data to our servers for this layer. Translation sources: Turkish Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır (Al Quran Cloud tr.yazir), English Talal Itani (en.itani), intended alignment with the Tanzil translation listing. Attribution appears in the App and on shared images.
- Sevap Point (optional sign-in): You may voluntarily use Sign in with Apple and Google Firebase (authentication and cloud database) for an optional social layer. This is not required for reading or translations. If you enable it, a user identifier linked to your Apple account, a chosen display name (nickname), an invite code assigned to you, an optional invite code you enter from someone else, and related stats (direct / chain / impact summary, score) are processed and stored on Firebase. The optional leaderboard may show limited fields such as summary score and display name, designed to be public or visible to signed-in users as appropriate. If you share an invite as www.sadecekuran.org?invite=…, the code in the URL is a public query string. Adding an invite line or link to verse or image shares only happens when you share. You can sign out in the App. To limit referral abuse (for example, claiming an invite code repeatedly with the same Apple account), a very small server-side record may be retained even if you delete your account and your Sevap profile — it only encodes that this Apple sign-in has already used the invite system, using a one-way key derived from the Apple provider identifier (e.g. SHA-256), not the raw identifier, and is not tied to Qur’an reading, translation text, or your general app settings. For data questions or deletion, contact destek@sadecekuran.org.
3. Third parties
Apple: App Store distribution, in-app purchase validation, and your device OS are subject to Apple’s privacy policies.
Google / Firebase: If you use the optional Sevap Point (Sign in with Apple) feature, identity-related data is processed on Firebase (Google) infrastructure; Google’s and Firebase’s terms apply.
The App does not intentionally collect personal data for profiling or tracking through advertising SDKs.
4. Children
The App is not directed at collecting personal data from children. Parents can manage device and family settings via Apple.
5. Your rights and contact
For requests regarding personal data, you may contact us at destek@sadecekuran.org, in addition to rights under applicable local law.
6. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. For important changes we will update this page and, where possible, in-app information. Refer to the Last updated date above for the current text.
